The intent of this blog (at the moment) is to gather information regarding the history of US Education from 1980 to the present. Please share your classroom!
If you were a classroom teacher anytime from 1980 to the present, I'd love "see" your classroom. I need details for this research.
Check out our classroom, February 2013 |
- What is the "time frame" of the classroom that you are blogging about? (for example, 1980's)
- Your location? (state would be great)
- What did your classroom look like? Photos are great!
- What was the makeup of your students? Demographic type information would be nice.
- What was the grade level and content?
- What was the major educational philosophies of the time?
- What were curricular trends at that time?
- What was your typical class size?
Time Frame: Now, 2013
Location: Middle Georgia
Looks like: Desks are grouped in U shapes so that I can access each child. 7 student computers are lined along the walls. Anchor charts are all over the room. Smart Board and Document camera are used daily, as well as dry-erase boards. (This picture is posted with parental consent.)
Student demographics: male and female sixth-grade students of great diversity, age 10 - 12 years.
Grade level/content: Sixth-grade mathematics
Educational philosophy: Research-based decision making
Curricular Trend: Response to Intervention (RTI)
Class Sizes: 15 - 17 for co-teaching classes and 22 - 25 for regular education classes
Hi Again! I decided to share my classroom, in hopes that you'll share yours.
This photo above is the real deal; That's me in our classroom, helping a student. The "Elf" picture is funny; isn't that how we look when we sit at a student desk?
Please share a description of your classroom. I need your help to conduct this research. Pictures are optional, but details are needed.
I am now a science coach, but here is a link to my blog with pictures of my old third grade classroom.

Thank you! I viewed your blogspot - loved your classroom. I am sure you miss it. Did you take the curtains to your new office? I think your office cubby/closet is an interesting idea. My desk/office is in the classroom, but I am never at my desk when I have students. Can you share your state for my research?
